Why Your Health Goals Might Fail
Last week I wrote and uploaded an article about building your health future, and today I want to share the essence of what could transform your approach to lasting health.
You're making changes. You're eating more fibre, choosing real foods, becoming aware of how your body responds. But here's the question that keeps me up at night: will these changes still be there in five years?
Most people fail not because they lack motivation, but because they never truly defined where they're heading. They're trying to get somewhere without knowing what that destination looks like.
Here's what I've learned from years of building businesses and rebuilding my own health: you need more than good intentions. You need what I call the POST framework,
Purpose, Objectives, Strategy, and Tactics.
Your purpose isn't about losing weight or fitting into old clothes. It's deeper. Ask yourself this powerful question: what's the one thing you would die for? For most people, it's protecting their family, being there for their children, ensuring their loved ones have the best version of them. That's your true health purpose right there.
Then you need objectives, the vivid picture of where you want to be. Don't just say "I want to be healthy in my 80s." Get specific: "I want to be hiking mountain trails with my partner at 85." When you begin with the end in mind, every decision between now and then becomes crystal clear.
Your strategy is your roadmap, the high level approach connecting purpose to reality. For Clubwell members, that often means prioritising whole foods, building metabolic flexibility, and establishing your non negotiables.
Finally, tactics are your daily footsteps. Not vague wishes like "eat better," but concrete actions: "include 5g of fibre in my first meal" or "take a 20 minute walk after dinner."
Your action today: Write down your purpose. Why are you really doing this? What deeper motivation drives you beyond surface level goals? Be honest, be specific, be ambitious.
