Type 2 Diabetes Is Reversible. Why Has Nobody Told You?

1 min read

Most people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes are told it is chronic, progressive and irreversible. A one-way street. A life sentence with no parole. That is a lie. It is one of the most damaging lies in modern medicine.

Type 2 diabetes is, in the overwhelming majority of cases, reversible. Not manageable. Not treatable. Reversible. My good friend Dr David Unwin, who sits on our advisory panel at

Clubwell, has been proving this in his NHS practice for years. Hundreds of patients in remission through dietary changes alone.

Here is the cruel irony. The standard treatment often gives more insulin to a body that already has too much. The cells have stopped responding because they are overwhelmed. And the medical response is to overwhelm them further. The blood sugar comes down on paper. The doctor says the medication is working. But the diabetes has got worse because the underlying problem, excess insulin, has been amplified.

In the ACCORD trial, one of the largest diabetes studies ever conducted, the group that received intensive insulin therapy and achieved lower blood sugar had worse outcomes. More deaths, not fewer. The trial was stopped early because people were dying faster.

The approach that works is the opposite. Reduce the carbohydrates that constantly spike insulin. Give your pancreas a rest. Let your cells recover their sensitivity. In one study, every marker that worsened on government guidelines reversed when participants returned to a lower-carb diet. In just three weeks.

Your action today: If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, know that reversal is possible. Start by reducing one high-carb meal a day and replacing it with protein, healthy fats and vegetables. Track your progress in the Clubwell app and share the results with your GP.
