Seven Years and Still Waiting

1 min read

Seven years ago, I stood on stage at the Public Health Collaboration conference with doctors, nutritionists, and even Tom Watson, the former Deputy Leader of the Labour Party. We held up a banner demanding our government stop poisoning people with bad dietary advice.

That was seven years ago.

Fast forward to last year, and my Tree of Insulin Resistance graphic was being presented at the White House as part of the Make America Healthy Again movement. They listened. They changed their food guidelines. They took action, and their new guidelines now reflect the science and evidence we have been presenting for seven years.

But back home? Our schools still serve ultra-processed meals based on outdated science. Our hospitals feed recovering patients the very foods that made them sick. Our military runs on guidelines from a different era. I have raised this in the House of Lords, multiple times. Still nothing.

How is it that America can listen and act in months, but Britain cannot move in seven years? Our children deserve better. Our sick deserve better. Our soldiers deserve better.

The science is clear. The evidence is overwhelming. So why are we still waiting?

Here is the thing, we are not waiting. I am done asking permission to help people get well. That is exactly why I created Clubwell.

Now, I am not trying to turn your daily digest into a political broadcast. But this is not about politics, it is about health, and the people we love.

Your action today: Write to your local MP. Tell them the current dietary guidelines are outdated and harming the people they are supposed to protect. If enough of us do this, if thousands of Clubwell members all raise their voices at the same time, we become a collective that is impossible to ignore. One letter is easy to dismiss. Thousands are not.
