What is Co-Enzyme Q10 used for?

Co-enzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a vitamin-like substance that is needed for the function of many organs and chemical reactions in the body and helps to provide energy for cell growth and maintenance.

CoQ10 production decreases as we age

Most of us don’t need to worry about supplementing with CoQ10 as when we’re younger our bodies produce this substance naturally. But sadly as we age our bodies produce less and less of it.

On top of that, nowadays we’re not eating as much offal as we used to – a food very rich in this enzyme. So it’s likely that most older people aren’t ingesting enough to significantly increase CoQ10 levels inside us. This is why supplementing is known to be extremely beneficial for many, especially in our older years.
